Day AFTER release day! Wahooo!!!
I am pretty excited with the release of The Edge of Fate. It took me nine months to write and it was a battle for the latter half of that writing journey. Cian and Fenric are out in the world now, and I can take a break at last.
What’s a break look like for me?
For me, a break is usually a chaotic mashup of house chores, errands, naps, playtime with the cats, and binge-watching my favorite TV shows until my anxiety fades away. Why am I anxious? Because my brain hates me, and thinks we should be working ALL THE TIME. And if we’re working, my brain thinks we should be doing chores or cleaning or being productive. There’s no balance with my brain sometimes, to the point I hate the word SHOULD.
This time I am trying hard to let myself relax and be present, and focus on nothing. That’s hard to do, for me, truly hard to do. I even compromised this morning by working on my website, and now this evening I am working on this blog post instead of doing literally anything else.
I’ve got a week or so to figure out how to take a break, just in time to get back to work.
Stay safe and happy reading!
